Things To Do In Cottesloe Beach
Cottesloe Beach is undoubtedly the most well-known and popular beach in Perth city, and for a good reason. It has fairly calm turquoise water that is enjoyable to swim in and clean white sand, but what really makes it stand out from the rest are things such as the grassed park and terraces behind the beach, numerous tall shady Norfolk Island pine trees and best alls, fun and lively atmosphere in the summer season when everyone seems to be down there! As it is, this beach has loads of exciting activities that you will certainly have fun indulging in.
The main swimming area at Cottesloe Beach is less than a few metres from the Indiana Tea House and Surf Club. It is the most crowded area of the beach, but also the safest as swimmers do their thing in full view of the professional surf life savers.
The size of waves around Cottesloe Beach vary from day to day, however, there are often on the smaller side. And when particularly big, they always tend to break close to the shore. Though these waves are not the best for boogie boarding and surfing activities, a lot of enthusiasts still find them appropriate for their needs.
The Pylon was originally built for attaching a shark net to; however, today the shark net no longer exists. The concrete built object today is used for climbing and jumping off onto the sea water for fun by different fun seeking swimmers. Swimming out to the pylon, climbing onto it and then jumping into the water is quite an exciting activity for the swimmers. The pylon however has recently been painted with a slippery coating to make it harder to climb than it used to be.
Lazy walks around the beach
With panoramic views down to the beach and along the coast as far as Hillarys Boat Harbour in the north and Freemantle Port in the south, you will definitely want to cycle or take leisurely walks around this seashore area.
The grassy lawns and parks with ocean views just behind the beach are great places to sunbath, have picnics, relax and watch the sun as it goes down the horizon in the evenings.
These are just a few of fun activities you can try out when visiting Cottesloe Beach. Of course, there is a lot more that you can try out in addition to the listed above, including indulging in the nightlife. For an easier time getting around the beach, why not consider hiring a coach to take care of all your transport necessities? This is cheap and makes it easier for you to have a more customized and flexible itinerary.
